Our Take: Sitting just a block from the Time Warner Cable Arena in downtown Charlotte, this Ritz lives up to its brand's name. The hotel's muted wood tones are offset by large, colorful examples of contemporary art, while the spacious guestrooms house oversized beds and large bathrooms. Although room rates are typically high, visitors say that the experience is worth the splurge. For many, it was the Ritz's Spa & Wellness Center—which offers a diverse treatment menu, as well as a peaceful indoor pool—that sealed the deal on a great stay. For others, it was the hearty French cuisine served at BLT Steak (BLT standing for Bistro Laurent Tourondel), not to mention the confectionary creations found at Bar Cocoa.
