U.S. News Review

If you're looking for crème de la crème of D.C. digs, recent guests say you can't go wrong with this Ritz-Carlton. The first thing it gets right: its Georgetown location. The second: its decor. Red brick walls hug both the interior and exterior of this property, while the cool tones found throughout the hotel are reminiscent of the nearby waterfront. And its calming color palette extends to its stylish accommodations, appointed with 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton linens, plush feather beds, DVD home theater systems and high-speed Wi-Fi access. Craving more luxury? Retreat to the lavish Boutique Spa to indulge in a rejuvating massage. However, what really sets the Ritz apart — aside from its top-notch amenities — is its elegant, relaxed ambiance. Guests can't stop raving about the contemporary, airy design of the Lobby Lounge, which features an inviting, wood burning fireplace. Visitors also exalt Degrees, the Ritz's intimate dining venue that specializes in gourmet American fare.

Critic Reviews

“Forget gilded mirrors. The 86-room Ritz-Carlton Georgetown, housed in an historic industrial building, has the original brick and steel beams and a cozy slate fireplace in the lobby. But its aesthetic allure drops off from there.”

“Once an incinerator dating from the 1920s, this building still topped with a smokestack might seem the most unlikely of places for upscale lodgings, but settle into one of the large and chicly designed guest rooms (upper-level suites overlook the river) and you'll agree the concept works.”

“Elegance and history merge at this intimate hotel in the restored Georgetown incinerator between the river and the canal.”
