U.S. News Review

Walking into the lobby of The St. Regis Princeville, you know immediately that you are at the topthe top of the hotel that is. That's where you'll find the lobby, affording jaw-dropping views of the ocean and Kauai's lush coast during check-in and checkout. Between Hanalei Bay and Kauai's rugged mountains, the resort's stunning location sets this St. Regis property apart from the competition, as does its two golf courses and Halele'a Spa. According to previous visitors, the guest rooms are just as impressive: The St. Regis Princeville forgoes the kitschy tropical decor in favor of decorative accents that touch upon the resort's natural surroundings, such as a color palette of blues, greens, beiges and oranges. Rooms also come with home theater systems, luxury linens and, in some cases, balconies. The St. Regis Princeville also houses multiple distinct restaurants, all of which use ingredients that have been grown or produced on the island. Another perk? Starwood Preferred Guests can earn or redeem points here for additional stay benefits.

Critic Reviews

“Built into the cliffs above Hanalei Bay, this swanky Starwood resort offers expansive views of the sea and mountains, including Makana, the landmark peak immortalized as mysterious Bali Hai island in the film South Pacific.”
Award: Fodor's Choice

“Hawaii's first and only St. Regis — a brand renowned for its opulence and service—opened in late 2009, following a multimillion-dollar transformation of the Princeville Hotel. The dramatic cliffside layout didn't change: You still enter on the ninth floor, with a dazzling panorama of Hanalei Bay and Makana (the “Bali Hai” mountain) across the airy lobby and an elevator to take you down to the narrow but pleasant sandy beach and handsome, 5,000-square-foot infinity pool.”
Award: Frommer's Highly Recommended

“In its new incarnation, however, the property now also offers enough amenities to tempt even the links-averse — including an 11,000-square-foot spa doling out taro-clay wraps and maile-oil massages; Kauai Grill, a Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant; a 5,000-square-foot infinity pool; and a sheltered beach good for snorkeling and for families.”
