Our Take: This modern masterpiece of a hotel features 306 well-appointed guestrooms and suites in the SoMa neighborhood. If you want to spread out, book a Metropolitan Suite, which boasts about 1,000 square feet of space. Not that the standard rooms are dumpy—guests say you'll be more than comfortable lounging here after a day of sightseeing, when you'll find Pratesi linens on the beds, flat-screen TVs on the walls, and rainforest shower heads in the bathrooms. But what guests especially enjoy about this St. Regis property is its location and its delicious, if expensive, room service, provided by the in-house Ame restaurant.
