U.S. News Review

St. Regis hotels are renowned for their luxurious accommodations, and the D.C. branch is no exception. Set in the heart of downtown — just a few blocks from the White House — this luxury hotel receives high praise for its elegant decor and lavish furnishings. Recent guests compliment the St. Regis' historical feel as well as its contemporary amenities, which include a wine fridge, Bose sound systems and two TVs (one is embedded in the bathroom mirror, of course). But that's not the only reason to bed down here. Previous visitors give rave reviews to restaurant Decanter, attributing great customer service and delectable Mediterranean culinary creations as key ingredients that made the meals memorable. You'll also rest easy knowing that you can earn or redeem perks if you participate in the Starwood Preferred Guest loyalty program.

Critic Reviews

“Just two blocks from the White House, this 1926 Italian Renaissance-style landmark attracts a business and diplomatic crowd, but families will love the F.A.O. Schwarz teddy bears and kid-size robes issued to young guests.”

“The feather in Starwood's D.C. cap, the ... St. Regis underwent a huge renovation (closing for 16 months and reopening in 2008) and still looks sharp.”

“Fresh flowers, crystal chandeliers and a service-oriented staff create an aura of opulence at this luxury hotel dating from 1926. ... The marble-tiled bathrooms are not overly spacious; however, they are supplied with high-quality amenities, upgraded fixtures and bathrobes.”
