Our Take: Families and couples particularly praise the Tides' quaint setting (perched on a marina in the Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia). But they also have good things to say about the resort's eclectic array of activities, which include sailing courses, bike, canoe, and paddle boat rentals, and a magnificent outdoor pool. Plus, there's the 18-hole Golden Eagle Virginia Golf Course and Clubhouse. Previous visitors also praise the colonial-style accommodations, which come with Egyptian cotton linens, mini-bars, marble accented bathrooms with deep soaking tubs, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Though some guests do complain that the Wi-Fi service can be spotty and the dining is just subpar given its high cost, others report a satisfactory dining experience throughout the hotel's four on-site eateries.
