Our Take: Popular with honeymooners, The Wauwinet sits in a quieter northern corner of Nantucket island, just less than a mile from the Coskata-Coatue Wildlife Refuge. Here, you can stretch out your sea legs on one of two private beaches or sample the local seafood at the ever-popular TOPPER's restaurant. The attentive service staff deserves a mention as well: Everyone, from the reservations assistants to the cleaning staff, receives high praise from recent guests. The concierge even makes pre-vacation planning phone calls. The luxurious rooms and cottages, adorned with soothing yellow tones, wooden furnishings, lavish bath products, and plush 400-thread-cound Pratesi linens also leave guests vying for more time at this romantic retreat.
