Our Take: Recent visitors enjoy this Westin's proximity to the German Village and Brewery District neighborhoods, as well as its elegant, historic building. The Westin Columbus was once The Great Southern Hotel, which opened in 1897. And even though it's now refurbished with 21st-century comforts like iHome radios and custom Heavenly® beds and toiletrees, the original stained-glass windows and crystal chandeliers recall yesteryear. In addition, the hotel boasts two dining options, as well as a WestinWORKOUT gym. The only drawback, according to few previous guests, is the extremely loud bar noise heard in some lower level guest rooms. Recent guests recommend booking a room facing the west wide on a higher level. On the plus side, if you're a Starwood Preferred Guest, you may accrue or redeem points by choosing to stay here.
