U.S. News Review

Sitting right at the corner of Michigan and Delaware avenues, this Westin hotel is just steps from Magnificent Mile's best boutiques. And if you've got kids in tow, you'll appreciate the hotel's proximity to Navy Pier (roughly 15 minutes away by bus). Guests note that the Westin's downtown location is its best feature, but convenience does have its drawbacks. Some previous visitors complain of small rooms that could use a facelift and a noisy atmosphere due to traffic on the street below. Do your best to reserve a spot on a higher floor; no matter which room you end up in, you'll find it features Westin's signature Heavenly bed and bath fixtures, as well as a flat-screen TV and wireless Internet access (for a fee). Plus, several travelers say that they're willing to forgive the cramped conditions as a result of the Westin's reasonably priced rates. When you're not out on the town, you can get your workout in at the hotel fitness center, or you can stop counting calories and enjoy a meal at The Grill on the Alley, which receives praise for its prime steak and fresh seafood. Meanwhile, Starwood Preferred Guests can collect or cash in points by choosing to bed down here.
