Our Take: From a glamorous desert oasis to a dusty old gem and back again, The Wigwam has recently returned to its glory days with a multi-million dollar renovation and a renewed spirit. Recent guests rave about the staff's accommodating and welcoming nature, and they describe the new rooms as casual and inviting. But there's much more to this property than guestrooms: For example, The Wigwam's grounds encompass three championship golf courses (and as a guest you'll have access to two additional courses located nearby). If you prefer not to spoil a good walk, you can spend your time relaxing by one of three pools, enjoying a massage at the in-house spa, or even playing Bocce on the lawn. No matter how you choose to spend your day, recent guests recommed kicking off the evening with a meal at one of the resort's two restaurants. However, those of you looking to shop should know that The Wigwam is in west Phoenix and quite a ways from the elegant shops of ritzy Scottsdale.
