U.S. News Review
Sitting at the heart of Vail — just a short walk from the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens — the Tivoli Lodge has stayed true to its mountain-chalet style since opening in 1968. Rooms exude a cozy ambience, thanks to rich leather furniture and dramatic mountain views (some of the rooms even feature fireplaces). Guests appreciate the strong attention to detail in terms of decor as well as customer service; many say that concierge and front-desk staff at this Gemstone Hotel went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Guests also like that the buffet breakfast features new items every day, and the Brown Hound Lounge makes a great spot for après-ski drinks. However, if you're looking for a hot dinner spot, you'll have to find a restaurant off-site. Thankfully, Tivoli Lodge sits at the heart of Vail, within walking distance of numerous eateries. And for most guests, the lack of an in-house eatery doesn't seem to be a problem: Most recent visitors can't wait to go back. How we rank hotels
