U.S. News Review

Overlooking Hamoa Beach from its perch on Maui's eastern shore, Travaasa Hana prides itself on its Old Hawaiian atmosphere. Case in point: Guests are invited to explore local traditions like hula though classes taught on-site by staff members that have been with the hotel for generations. There's also the fact that the hotel doesn't just have a whirlpool — it has a lava rock whirlpool. Many of Travaasa Hana's guests have been longtime, loyal customers, who continue to return to this property for its excellent customer service and beautiful lodgings. You won't find high-tech amenities in these guest rooms. That's right: no TVs, clocks or radios. Travaasa Hana's accommodations are designed to help you disconnect, featuring private hot tubs and spacious balconies. Guests especially enjoy staying here thanks to the hotel's all-inclusive rates; the cost of your room will also cover meals and spa treatments, if you're so inclined. And guests recommend that you take advantage of this option, describing the spa as beautiful and the cuisine as delicious.

Critic Reviews

“The Travaasa Hana, Maui overlooking Hana Bay delivers rustic luxury in the middle of Maui's lush, secluded east coast. ”

“Ahhh ... arriving at Travaasa (formerly the Hotel Hana Maui) is like letting out a deep sigh. The atmosphere is so immediately relaxing you’ll forget everything beyond this remote seaside sanctuary. Nestled in the center of quaint Hana town, the 66-acre resort wraps around Kauiki Head.”
