U.S. News Review

What attracts many guests to the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa is its noteworthy family-friendliness. Located in west Vail, this year-round resort offers KidVenture, a variety of staff-supervised activities geared specifically toward children ages 5 to 12; there are also babysitting services and convenience items like cribs and high chairs. And because this member of the Destination Hotels Group understands that Fido is part of the family, too, your four-legged friends are more than welcome to stay. Guest rooms are certainly large enough to fit the whole clan, while in-room movies and video games will keep the little ones content in the evenings. When it's warm enough, spend a few hours enjoying the view of Gore Creek from the on-site infinity pool before tackling the surrounding hiking and biking trails. Meanwhile, the on-site Aria Spa earns a big thumbs-up from recent guests — many parents mention that it's the ideal place to pass the time while the kids are off adventuring. But be warned: Some guests mention that you can expect to encounter fewer customer service representatives (and sometimes construction) if you visit during the off-season.

Critic Reviews

Oyster.com

“With a beautiful creek-side setting and a private ski lift, the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa is a great overnight choice for those looking to get away and relax with all the amenities of an upscale hotel. Highlights include a beautiful infinity pool with adjacent fire pits and a 78,000-square-foot fitness center and spa. There is plenty to do at the resort, but it is in a somewhat removed location that is not truly walking distance to any of the Vail Villages.”

Frommer's

“Rooms got a slick renovation for spring 2013, with a 'contemporary mountain' bent including earth tones, impressionist art, and sleek lighting. With the Aria Athletic Club & Spa (the largest fitness center in the valley) and great dining in Atwater on Gore Creek, the facilities here are excellent.”

Travel + Leisure

“The ultimate bonus: most rooms have patios and balconies, and each has a fireplace and heated stone bathroom floors. As for other activities, there are snow cones by the pool, alfresco candlelit dinners, and pampering treatments such as high-altitude hydrating massages at the Aria spa.”

USA today

“Atwater's self billing as an 'authentic Colorado grill' may be understating things. The restaurant, with an airy dining room and generous windows overlooking Gore Creek, offers customized beer flights from the deepest list in Vail — north of four dozen options — and thoughtful cuisine-beer pairings.”
