U.S. News Review

Like many W hotels, San Francisco's iteration is ├╝ber-trendy, yet remarkably comfortable. Previous guests were fond of the hotel's accommodations, praising the colorful decor and the in-room amenities, which include pillow-top mattresses, goose-down bedding, flat-screen TVs and access to iPod shuffles and a variety of DVDs through the hotel's Whatever/Whenever program. The W San Francisco also provides pet beds, litter boxes and food bowls for those traveling with four-legged companions. In addition to its 404 guest rooms, the W also has TRACE, a restaurant that serves socially conscious Californian cuisine, and the lavish Bliss Spa, where you can watch a movie while you get your nails done. Previous visitors (and their kids) appreciate the enormous hotel lobby that's stocked with various game tables and board games. Sitting near the Yerba Buena Gardens in the SoMa neighborhood, this Starwood-affiliated hotel makes a great choice for business and leisure travelers alike.

Critic Reviews

Fodor's

“The place is infused with hip energy, owing some of its cachet to the next-door San Francisco Museum of Modern Art: techno-pop pulses in the lobby, bar, and Trace Restaurant, where the massive jellyfish-like chandelier is a destination in itself. ”

Oyster.com

“An outpost of the generally solid 'lifestyle'-focused chain, the W San Francisco in the SoMa art district offers clean, airy rooms, and above-average amenities in a whimsical, stylish setting.”

AAA

“This ultra-contemporary facility offers 'cool' luxury in all respects. The guest units are housed in a 31-story modern high-rise located across from the Museum of Modern Art and Moscone Convention Center.”
