U.S. News Review

The Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is a great home base if you're looking to test your water sports skills in the nearby Anaehoomalu Bay. When you're looking for a break from the brine, this Marriott's popular pools come highly recommended, though some recent visitors complain that there aren't enough umbrellas to lounge under. Aside from that, travelers say that this hotel is a great choice for those who crave the familiar Marriott experience (and who wish to take advantage of their Marriott Rewards points). Accommodations here boast Polynesian- and Asian-inspired decor, as well as flat-screen TVs and private furnished balconies. In addition to multiple pools, the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort houses the full-service Mandara Spa and invites guests to take part in cultural activities like lei-making classes and hula and ukelele lessons. For many visitors, the resort's breakfast buffet served at the on-site Hawaii Calls Restaurant & Lounge was a highlight of their stays (even though they note that it's fairly pricey).

Critic Reviews

Fodor's

“Covering 15 acres with ancient fishponds, historic trails, and petroglyph fields, the Marriott has rooms with sleek modern beds, bright white linens, Hawaiian art, and private lanai. Three pools comprise a heated infinity pool, a pool with a sandy entrance for kids, and one with a waterslide for the young and young-at-heart.”

Oyster.com

“The location — next to two championship golf courses, and within walking distance of shops and restaurants — is convenient, especially since guests may be inclined to skip the pricey, mediocre on-site dining.”

USA Today

“The Waikoloa Beach Marriott is in the heart of the resort area, just up the street from the massive Hilton. Its location adjacent to the salt-and-pepper sands of Anaehoomalu Bay draws tourists to this smaller but equally impressive 15-acre property. In addition to being walking distance to one of the Kohala Coast’s best recreational beaches, the hotel offers an adult infinity pool, children's pool, Jacuzzis, spa and fitness facility.”
