Our Take: This hotel of Chantilly, Va. is a little too far outside the Washington, D.C. metro area to be considered a viable option for D.C. travelers. But it is just a hop, skip, and a jump (or in other words, approximately 10 miles) from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). Many recent lodgers don't seem to mind being so far removed as they describe the beautiful furnishings and delight in this hotel's decadence compared to other Marriott properties. Guest rooms are spacious and feature plush down comforters, 300-thread count sheets, and 19-inch flat-screen TVs. When hunger sets in, you can satiate your appetite at one of three on-site eateries: Fairfax Dining Room, Palm Court, and Wellington's Pub. Though most recent visitor's report a pleasant stay, some say the average room rates are exorbitant for such an isolated hotel. On the plus side, if you participate in Marriott's rewards program, you can accumulate points by choosing to stay here.
