U.S. News Review

Since the 1900s, the Foothills' oldest resort has drawn nature lovers (both local and visiting) to its eco-friendly grounds, which blanket 80 acres and encompass numerous hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. However, some guests feel that the property is beginning to show its age, noting that it may be time for a resort makeover. Most guests do appreciate the sizable hacienda-style rooms, which are decked out in traditional Southwestern patterns and feature private balconies or patios, flat-panel televisions and wireless Internet access (covered by the $20 per night resort fee). Meanwhile, the Sonoran Spa wins guests over with its jojoba- and aloe-infused treatments, while the outdoor pool provides a peaceful setting for sunbathers. Though you may be a ways from downtown, you won't have to worry about going hungry: Westward Look is home to two highly acclaimed restaurants. But what really gets guests excited are the rates, which many say are lower than other Tucson resorts.
