Check your calendar before taking your tots to the cumin-colored sands of this northwest Jamaica beach. Like its name suggests, Seven Mile has plenty of space for you to find a spot, but you'll share the area with a few adults-only resorts as well as those who like to sunbathe in the nude. The family friendliest day at Seven Mile is Sunday.
Like a lot of Jamaican beaches, Seven Mile often has vendors selling both legal and illegal merchandise. Some vacationers aren't as good humored as others about fending the amateur salesmen off. One TripAdvisor user notes, "The boys on the beach will ask you to buy things and all you need to do is say no mon and they do not bother you." But another disappointed vacationer submits: "The vendors ruined what could have been a wonderful relaxing vacation on the beach. If anyone comes up to you and says 'respect' it means they want you to buy something."
Sunbathers with plenty of patience will find Seven Mile Beach open at any time of day.
