| About these ratings | ||
Sometimes good things come in small packages. The Key West Aquarium is one of those things, as one TripAdvisor user says: it "may not be the biggest aquarium I've ever visited, but it certainly offered the most up-close-and-personal tour I've ever experienced." Although it might also be lacking very elaborate exhibits, this aquarium still has a good range of creatures for the entire family to see. Take your kids to the touch pools to see if a sea cucumber is as slimy as it looks. You can even get your hands on a shark (a gentle nurse shark, that is) if you go on a tour of the aquarium, during which you'll also witness feedings.
The aquarium is also home to a collection of endangered sea turtles that are native to Florida waters. Working with some state agencies, universities and other marine parks, the Key West aquarium shelters injured turtles until they are well enough to be returned.
The reasonable price of admission automatically includes a tour and is good for two consecutive days. Tours occur four times a day.
