| About these ratings | ||
Cirque du Soleil is an entertainment company that specializes in ornate and colorful on-stage choreography, billed as a synthesis between a circus and a performance art stage show (animals are notably absent from all performances). Cirque du Soleil holds many seasonal shows in Las Vegas throughout the year at various venues -- at least five percent of Las Vegas' annual visitors see a Cirque du Soleil performance. One of the most popular performances has been O, a stage show at the Bellagio that features fire-twirlers, contortionists, trapeze artists and elaborate acrobatics performed above a 1.5 million gallon swimming pool.
Prepare to be awed by the performance, if you're not still in shock from sticker shock: tickets commonly sell for as high as $150. Although the hefty price tags can be a deterrent, Frommer's claims that you won't be disappointed: "We know -- those ticket prices … ouch! We want to say that we can guarantee it's worth it." Show times and locations vary depending on which performance you wish to see. You can find more detailed information at Cirque du Soleil's website.
