Myrtle Beach is well-known for its range of golf options. The challenging (and pricey) Legends golf course is one of the best, according to writers and recent visitors. The course offers 54 holes and a huge Scottish-style clubhouse. The courses take advantage of the area's natural offerings, and feature marshy wetlands, ponds and thick patches of trees. However, some reviewers complain that the courses could be maintained better: One TripAdvisor user says the Moorlands course in particular is "very poorly marked … It all seems a set up to get you to rend a GPS -- without it you can't find your way."
