| About these ratings | ||
One of many signature landmarks of New York City, the Brooklyn Bridge is also one of the oldest suspension bridges in the country. Its six-lanes (and one pedestrian and bicycle walkway) span the East River, connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn. Walking across the bridge remains a tourist pastime. One TripAdvisor user raves, "The walk over the Brooklyn Bridge was fabulous! There are some amazing views of Manhattan and Brooklyn, plus it's great to experience this historical feature connecting the two cities."
Some visitors decide to skip the bridge in favor of more specific attractions, but if you're short on money, this truly is one of the best ways to experience the city, plus get a unique view of either borough. It takes about 30 minutes to walk from one side of the bridge to the other.
