| About these ratings | ||
Easton's Beach -- sometimes known as First Beach -- is the favorite choice for families looking to spend a day by the Atlantic. And there are loads of amenities along this bit of shore, including a snack bar, showers and restrooms, plus kid-friendly extras like a waterslide, a beach bounce house, a 1950s era carousel, bumper cars and more.
One TripAdvisor user says that because of the red tide, you might want to rethink swimming here: "It is NOT at all the local beaches but does populate this one so if you are looking for a low key time and nice swimming this is not the beach for you."
Easton's Beach is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but you can stroll along the shore for free in the off-season. You'll find it off of Memorial Drive in Easton Bay. Hitting the sand is free, but parking costs $10 per car during the week and $20 on weekend. Check out the City of Newport's website for more information.
