Best Times to Visit Orlando-Walt Disney World
The best time to visit Orlando is January to April. That's the time of year you'll find the most pleasant weather (mid-70s most days) and agreeable prices on travel and lodging. Summertime is the worst season to plan a trip to the area — that's when hotels take advantage of the school break to drive prices up. Early fall is also a nice option, as long as you visit before the holiday season.
The winter and early spring mark a nice lull in Orlando tourism. Plus the weather is very cooperative and you'll most likely experience pleasant temperatures in the mid-70s during the day. The lows can get down to the 50s, however, so you should also pack a light jacket. Hotel rooms will be offered at a discounted rate, with the exception of mid-March when some families plan spring break trips.
Orlando's summers are beyond sticky — with highs in the low 90s and plenty of rain — but the school calendar mandates that this is a popular time to visit. On the bright side, green fees will be more reasonable. Still, if you're looking for the most pleasant weather and better hotel rates and airfare, avoid this season for travel altogether.
This is a great time of year to save on an Orlando vacation if you plan a trip for the early months — by December families flood the area for winter holiday trips. Christmastime is a particularly popular time in Walt Disney World. In October, however, you might find four-star accommodations available for less than $150 a night. Expect September's high temps in the 90s to drop to the mid-70s by December.
