About these ratings

For approximately $110 you'll get a chance to learn more about dolphins and even take a 25-minute swim with them. But is it worth it?

Some say no. "Swimming" with the dolphins was a stretch -- most just got to pet them and take a picture alongside them. Plus the DVD with photos of your experience is an extra fee. Add to that the fact that the tour guides were perceived as rude by more than one TripAdvisor traveler, and you might have a few good excuses to skip a trip to Dolphin Island.

But other travelers are quick to note that Dolphin Island seems more humane than the Manatí Park, and if you're looking for a day excursion away from the resort, this might be a better fit for you. You can also save some money if you choose to swim with the sea lions instead. Dolphin Island's website is under construction; the park is open daily during the morning and early afternoon. Make your reservation at your hotel, which will also include shuttle service to the boat dock.
