| About these ratings | ||
Nestled in Gibbston Valley, the Chard Farm Winery is a picturesque alcove for wine lovers. This family-owned winery earns kudos for its Pinot Noir, but it also produces Riesling, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and several other vintages.
Many visitors say this is their favorite Queenstown-area winery. One traveler tells TripAdvisor why: "You get friendly personali[z]ed service and plenty of yummy wine to try—not snobby, good fun. The only drawback is that I always end up spending lots of money on wines!"
You'll find this idyllic enclave less than a 30-minute drive east of central Queenstown along the Gibbston Highway. But one TripAdvisor user warns about the driving terrain: "It is windy, narrow [and] drops dramatically away in places straight down to the icy river below—you hope you don't meet another vehicle coming the other way!!!"
