Perlan (The Pearl)

The Pearl is a five-level modernistic complex of attractions, which includes a restaurant, café, bars, a garden, a museum and some man-made geysers. The top-floor restaurant affords an amazing view of the city and mountains, but the pricey dining establishment (with rather mediocre food) is only open to patrons.

"It's a marvel from the outside but nothing spectacular on the inside," says one TripAdvisor user. "The view is nice but you get a better one from the top of Hallgrimskirkja."

Located a little less than two miles outside of the city center, you should either drive to the Pearl or take buses no. 7 or 18. You can visit daily, from about 10 a.m. to 9 or 11:30 p.m., depending on the season. For further information, visit the website.
