When to Visit Riga
The best time to visit Riga is the summer, when the streets are alive and the weather is near perfect. Because of its proximity to the Baltic Sea, Riga experiences surprisingly mild seasons compared to other Balkan cities. And that combined with the steady hotel rates (rates that are cheaper than those in much of Europe) means there really isn't a no-go season. In summer, the daily temps peak in the mid 70s. Expect some rain showers, so toss an umbrella in your suitcase. Spring and fall daytime temperatures usually range between 30 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit, while winter hovers around freezing both day and night.
