If you go to San Francisco to feast on the scrumptious gourmet treats and exotic delights then you must take a stroll through the Ferry Building Marketplace. Artisan cheeses, oysters, Parisian-style cafés, chocolate confections, jams, and freshly baked pastries galore line the colorful farmers' market stands.
Recent travelers rave about the marketplace's broad selection, but note one drawback: hefty price tags. According to one TripAdvisor, the marketplace has, "Great food, and though you pay top price, the quality is superb… as well as stunning views of the Bay, and often wonderful farmer's market finds out side."
You can reach the marketplace via the Embarcadero BART/Muni Station and several public buses lines. Car parking is also available near the marketplace. The marketplace is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m with slightly different hours on the weekends. Restaurants and stores, however, maintain varied hours. The farmers' market operating hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. For further details, consult the Ferry Marketplace website.
