According to its website, the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum hosts the largest collection of Ancient Egyptian finds on the West Coast. Along with a tomb replica, the museum's many sarcophagi and mummies thrill most visitors. And many appreciate the detailed descriptions and timelines adjacent to the displays. A few recent travelers express mild disappointment, however, like this TripAdvisor user who writes, "It is decent, but unless you're really into history and can't get to a major museum, there are probably better ways to spend your time and money."
Less than three miles from downtown, this Egyptian treasure trove is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the weekend. Admission costs $9. For more information, check out the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum's website.
