Although it's located next to the Singapore Zoo, the Night Safari doesn't so much compete with its neighbor as much as it picks up where (or when) the zoo leaves off. When the zoo closes at 6 p.m., the shops and restaurants of the Night Safari open their doors. But guests can't begin their adventures into the actually park until 7:30 pm. In the world's first nighttime zoo, you can explore eight different ecosystems along three walking paths, passing rhinos, hyenas, elephants and bongos (or antelope). When your feet get tired, a tram will pick you up. Aside from the animals, there is a fire show that receives rave reviews from family travelers.
One TripAdvisor suggests, "Get there early and DO NOT join the tram. [...] Instead, follow the fishing cat trail to the left [of the main queue at the entrance] and you'll have it almost to yourself."
At $32 SGD (about $25 USD), admission to this nocturnal park is a bit steep. If you're headed to the zoo as well, pick up the combined ticket for $42 SGD (about $33 USD). To reach the Night Safari, you can take the 138 SMRT bus from the Ang Mo Kio MRT station or the 927 SMRT bus from the Choa Chu Kang MRT station.
