Best Times to Visit St. Kitts & Nevis
The best time to visit St. Kitts and Nevis is May and June, when hotels lower their rates to lure in travelers and the winter crowds thin out. But the peak season -- December to April -- does host Carnival, a party that might be worth weaving through the droves of tourists. The crowds disperse again in the summer months when the islands experience the Atlantic hurricane season. And keep in mind St. Kitts and Nevis' average highs hover around 80 degrees Fahrenheit year-round.
The high season in St. Kitts and Nevis is from December to early April, when hotel rates tend to skyrocket. Even if you feel like braving the crowds, you should always book at least four months in advance, and as early as six months in advance if you plan on visiting during the wintertime Carnival.
This is the sweet spot between the peak and hurricane periods; rainfall is still pretty rare, and the hotels offer cheaper rates before the impending off-season shut-down.
You can find low rates this time of year, but keep in mind that some hotels close for the season. This is also the rainiest time -- St. Kitts and Nevis experience the Atlantic hurricane season. Be sure to monitor the weather reports before and during your stay.
