|About these ratings|
The landmark Sydney Harbour Bridge is anchored by four pylons (or supports). The southeast one is open to the public and is known as the Pylon Lookout. You can climb the 200 steps of the southeast pylon to snag a breathtaking view of the Sydney Harbour. The Pylon Lookout experience costs a fraction of the price of another Sydney Harbour Bridge adventure, the Sydney BridgeClimb. Plus, along the Pylon Lookout's climb, there are three exhibits, which tell about the bridge's history and construction.
Many travelers say the Pylon Lookout is one of city's best but lesser-known gems, comparing its views to those of the Sydney BridgeClimb. As one TripAdvisor user says: "If you don't want to spend a lot of money, it might be a better option for you."
Adult admission to the Pylon Lookout is $11 AUD (roughly the same in USD), but there are discounted prices for seniors, students and children. The lookout is open every day except Christmas from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on and directions to the Pylon Lookout, visit the website.
