|About these ratings|
The Sydney Aquarium's two best features are its replica of the Great Barrier Reef and its underwater glass tunnel that you can walk through. The first exhibit introduces you to the Great Barrier Reef without making you leave solid ground. The aquarium contains sharks, stingrays and fish galore.
A VirtualTourist user reports, "They have a shark tunnel, touch pools and even platypus. It isn't very large though, you will probably only spend about 2 hours here." Other visitors appreciated the dugongs (similar to a manatee), saying that these are unique to the Sydney Aquarium.
You'll find the aquarium conveniently located on the city side of Darling Harbour. It's open every day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., except on Christmas Day when it closes at 6 p.m. Adult tickets are $35 AUD (about $35 USD) and children's tickets are $20 AUD, but you could score some major discounts by booking your tickets online.
