The Bear Creek Trail is a must-do for those who visit Telluride in summer. Starting at the end of South Pine Street, this trail leads 2.5 miles (one-way) through the Bear Creek Preserve to Bear Creek Falls. Several other trails branch off from the falls, leading more adventurous hikers farther into the preserve.
According to recent trail-tacklers, the view of Bear Creek Falls is well worth the somewhat strenuous hike. Although the route climbs an exhausting 1,050 feet in elevation, one TripAdvisor user assures that you won't regret the trek. "The view along the way is simply amazing and once you reach the falls," he writes. "You'll forget about the long, uphill hike it took to get there."
The trail welcomes hikers and bikers every day from sun-up to sundown. You do not have to pay for trail access. For more information, check out the Bear Creek Trail page on the Telluride Tourism Board's website.
