| About these ratings | ||
This swanky neighborhood in the District's NW quadrant makes up the city's main shopping district. Along the district's main corridor, M Street, and housed inside converted row houses, you'll find chain stores galore, including Banana Republic, Urban Outfitters, Sephora and Anthropologie, among many, many others. You'll also find quite a few restaurants, at various price points. Although there are some indie boutiques in Georgetown, you'll have to spoke off the main drag to find them.
Located just east of the prestigious Georgetown University, this is also a popular nightlife hangout among college students, as well as a great place to enjoy some of DC's award-winning restaurants.
Some visitors say this neighborhood is highly overrated. Others were annoyed by the lack of parking and poor metro access; the closest metro is Foggy Bottom/GWU and is about a 20-minute walk from Georgetown's heart.
