About these ratings

If you're a history buff looking to learn a little more about the origins of Whistler, you're in luck. The exhibits in Whistler Museum showcase the area's past, from the pioneer days to Whistler Blackcomb Mountain's beginnings to the present. Visual and audio pieces display the typical clothing of eras ago, the evolving mountainous terrain and the wildlife that roams the land. Plus, kids will enjoy the hands-on exhibits, activity books and toy chest available to keep them entertained. Meanwhile, a significant portion of the museum focuses on the Whistler's quest for an Olympic bid and following transformation (Whistler Blackcomb Mountain hosted the alpine skiing, bobsled, luge and skeleton events for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics). The museum is also working on expanding with a major exhibit focused on how skiing has evolved in Whistler. Recent travelers note a visit here is an enlightening way to spend the day. "Whistler is all about the outdoors but if, for any reason, you can't go and enjoy it, this is a good way to spend some time," said one TripAdvisor user.

Whistler Museum is located in downtown Whistler and open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $4 CAD for kids ages 7 to 18, $6 CAD for students and seniors and $7.50 CAD for adults (the prices are similar in U.S. dollars). For more information, visit the Whistler Museum's website.
