How it Ranks: Carnival Glory ranks #8 out of 24 Carnival Cruise Lines Cruise Ships based on an analysis of expert and user ratings, as well as health ratings.

The 2,980-passenger Carnival Glory will offer itineraries to popular Caribbean destinations, such as the Bahamas and Jamaica in 2015. Though Carnival Glory first set sail in 2003, a 2012 renovation supplied the ship with "Fun Ship 2.0" amenities, including new dining venues and bars. And with the Serenity Adult Retreat, a child-free zone, and the Spa where guests can receive hot stone massages and facials (for an extra charge), there are plenty of onboard areas to recharge. Those hankering for more entertainment can attend musicals put on by Playlist Productions, enjoy comedy acts at the Punchliner Comedy Club and get the whole family working together to win prizes at Hasbro, The Game Show. (Past cruisers do caution that the comedy club tends to draw large crowds, and say the best way to snag a seat is arriving an hour ahead in advance of show times). When it comes to dining, reviewers recommend springing for a meal at the steakhouse (for an extra fee). However, there are plenty of other options, from two upscale main dining rooms to the Lido Deck which contains Guy's Burger Joint and BlueIguana Cantina and a buffet, 24-hour pizza and soft ice cream. Apart from versatile dining venues, Carnival Glory also offers a wide spectrum of youth-focused amenities and programs. During days at sea, younger guests can challenge new friends to a round of mini-golf or pingpong, catch flicks at the Seaside Theatre or splash around in the onboard pools and whirlpools. In terms of lodging, like other Carnival ships, Carnival Glory offers a variety of options that cater to different traveler types and budgets. While Interior and Ocean View cabins occupy 185 to 230 square feet and come outfitted with fleet-wide amenities like flat-screen TVs and terry cloth robes, Balcony and Suite staterooms offer additional legroom and perks. Guests staying in one of the ships high-end suites are rewarded with benefits like VIP check-in, a walk-in closet and a whirlpool tub. Plus, the ship maintains a crew of 1,150 to serve up to nearly 3,000 passengers, offering a higher level of personalization than larger ships within the fleet.

Disclaimers about ship ratings: A ship's Health Rating is based on vessel inspection scores published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). If a ship did not receive a CDC score within 22 months prior to the calculation of its Overall Rating, its Health Rating appears as N/A; in such a case, the ship's Overall Rating is calculated using the average Health Rating of all CDC-rated ships within the cruise line.
