How it Ranks: Carnival Pride ranks #2 out of 24 Carnival Cruise Lines Cruise Ships based on an analysis of expert and user ratings, as well as health ratings.

As is the case with the rest of Carnival's Spirit-class ships, 80 percent of the staterooms aboard the 2,124-passenger Carnival Pride provide ocean views, more than the majority of the fleet's other ships. For the best view, book a Balcony, Ocean View or Suite cabin (185 to 465 square feet). Some Interior Staterooms (185 square feet) offer picture windows or French doors, but the reason most cruisers book this cabin category is because of their affordability. Plus, with Carnival Pride's myriad of onboard activities, much of your time will likely be spent outside of your cabin. Active types can enjoy yoga and Pilates or jogs around the upper-deck running track. After working up a sweat, cool off in one of the pools, splash around in the WaterWorks water park or tackle the 72-foot-long Twister waterslide. Kids can hit the pools or head to Camp Carnival, Circle "C" or Club O2 for counselor-led activities geared toward different age groups. When it's time for food, Carnival Pride (which debuted in 2002 and underwent a $75 million refurbishment in fall 2014) now offers 16 onboard eateries, including the main dining room, the Lido Restaurant, Guy Fieri's Burger Joint and the Steakhouse (for an extra $35 per person fee). Other dining experiences cruisers can take advantage of range from casual meals at the Breakfast Grill, Salad Bar or Pizza Pirate to 24-hour room service to upscale experiences like the Chef's Table (cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a three-course meal for $75 per person). The ship's recent renovation also introduced new amenities, including the line's signature Seaside Theatre and Alchemy Bar. At night, you can attend comedy shows and musicals or enjoy late-night revelry at the nightclub and piano bar.

Disclaimers about ship ratings: A ship's Health Rating is based on vessel inspection scores published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). If a ship did not receive a CDC score within 22 months prior to the calculation of its Overall Rating, its Health Rating appears as N/A; in such a case, the ship's Overall Rating is calculated using the average Health Rating of all CDC-rated ships within the cruise line. All ship Traveler Ratings are based on ratings provided under license by Cruiseline.com.
