About these ratings

Points

With the Hilton HHonors program, you can earn points by staying at any Hilton brand property and by making everyday purchases with a Hilton HHonors-affiliated credit card. Cash in your points for room upgrades, free nights or airline or rail miles.

Earning Points

For every dollar spent on your room (including room charges like telephone calls and room service), you'll receive 10 reward points, known as base points. You can earn these points by staying at any participating Hilton-affiliated properties, such as Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Doubletree by Hilton, Embassy Suites and Hilton Garden Inn. In addition to base points, you can also earn bonus points, airline miles or rail rewards with two "My Way Earning Style" options: Points & Points and Points & Miles. You'll earn more bonus points by renting vehicles from Hilton's car rental partners, which include Alamo and National. If you're a Hilton HHonors Citi Visa or American Express credit card holder, you're eligible to earn bonus points for every dollar spent on hotel bookings and everyday purchases. The number of bonus points earned per dollar spent varies and depends on the credit card you choose. If you're short the points needed to receive a free night or room upgrade, you can purchase points on the Hilton HHonors website.

Using Points

You can use Hilton HHonors base and bonus points to pay for a standard or premium room at any Hilton or Hilton-affiliated hotel or resort. The number of HHonors points needed to cash in on room rewards depends on the Hilton hotel, the type of room you choose and your reservation. You can combine HHonors points and money (known as "Points & Money Rewards") to pay for a room, but these reservations are subject to blackout dates. You can also use your points to upgrade from a standard room to a premium room. Below are the numbers of points needed for one free night in a selection of popular business and leisure destinations:

Because of Hilton's partnerships with airlines like United Airlines, Delta Air Lines and American Airlines, Hilton HHonors members can also convert HHonors points to miles to use for air travel. HHonors points may additionally be used for purchases with Hilton's retail partners, including Nike, Vera Bradley and Samsung. Or, Hilton HHonors members can choose to donate their points to charity.
