Best Times to Visit Alicante

The best time to visit Alicante is any time. With mild temperatures and an average of about 20 days of rain per year, Alicante is hospitable year-round. For the best beach weather, visit June through September. (Be warned, the sand will be the most crowded at this time, too.) But if you want a chilled-out vacation, visit in the winter; you'll enjoy temperatures in the 50s, as well as deals on hotel rates.

April-September

Springtime average temperatures settle in the upper 60s, while summer sees temperatures in the 80s. April and May welcome fewer tourists than the June through September peak season, and the weather will still be nice enough to enjoy the beach.

Key Events:

  • Semana Santa (March or April)
    Moors and Christians Festival (April)
Santa Faz Pilgrimage (April or May)
Las Hogueras de San Juan (Late June)

October-March

Alicante temperatures hover in the 50s and 60s throughout the fall and winter. You can still go to the beach, but you'll probably need a wetsuit. Winter is the best time to take advantage of discounted hotel rates. Because many people live in Alicante year-round, you won't have to worry about restaurants, shops or activities closing for the winter season.

Key Events:

  • Tirisiti Nativity (December)
  • Carnaval (March)
