Best Times to Visit Barbados

The best time to visit Barbados is between July and November. Though these months fall within the Caribbean's hurricane season, hurricanes rarely hit the island, and you could attend one of the lively Crop Over Festival activities if you vacation during this time of year. Temperatures stay between the mid-70s and mid-80s year-round, so there's little reason to travel during the peak season, which occurs from late December to mid-April.

December-April

The conclusion of hurricane season means tourists will start returning to the region, meaning rates will steadily increase. This is Barbados' driest and thus busiest season when hotels tend to double in cost. If you're planning a visit for this time of year, keep in mind that some hotels may require travelers to purchase a meal plan, which isn't normally necessary during the low season.

Key Events:

May-June

The temperatures remain comfortably balmy from April to June, plus prices take a dive once winter travelers return home. However, hotel and airfare rates will continue to drop once hurricane season rolls around.

Key Events:

July-November

It's certainly possible for a bad storm to hit at this time of year – there will be quick spurts of rain many days – but hurricanes rarely touch down. Prices drop as much as 50% at the swanky resorts, and you'll be around for some of the island's most rousing parties.
