Best Times to Visit Boise

The best time to visit Boise is between March and May when the temperatures are ideal for enjoying Boise's outdoor activities, though powder hounds will beg to differ – saying that winter is the best time to enjoy the nearby ski slopes. The months between September and November are another moderate shoulder season, while June, July and August experience high temps in the 80s and 90s.

From June to August, average high temperatures range from the low 80s in June to the low 90s in August. Boise's warmest season is ideal for outdoorsy activities, such as whitewater rafting on the Boise River and mountain biking in the foothills.

Key Events:

September-November

To save some cash on your accommodations and airfare, the autumnal months of September through November are a great time to visit. There are usually rate breaks on accommodations and flights this time of year. Plus, Boise is a great place to enjoy fall color on the trees and comfortable average high temps that drop from the upper 70s in September to the upper 40s in November.

Key Events:

December-February

With averages temperatures that range between the 20s and 40s, Boise gets chilly in the winter – but it's also the perfect time to hit the ski slopes just a few miles north of town. Still, keep in mind that accommodations on the ski resorts can be very high this time of year.
