Best Times to Visit Cannes
The best time to visit Cannes is from March to May, before the annual film festival and the arrival of summer vacation crowds and hot weather. If you want to save as much money as possible, winter is a great time to visit the city as chilly temperatures in the mid-50s and high 30s yield significantly lower pricing for accommodations. However, you'll want to check that your chosen hotel hasn't closed up for the offseason. Fall is another quiet season in which hotel prices are lower than the spring and summer and the weather is mild, though rainfall is frequent.

March-May |
Spring sees average high temperatures that range from the upper 50s to the mid-70s, making for pleasant sightseeing weather. However, don't even think about vacationing in Cannes in May unless you want to wrestle with the tens of thousands of people in town for the Cannes Film Festival. If you do visit Cannes in early to mid-May, you should look to book your hotel as far in advance as possible (even several years ahead). Key Events: |
June-August |
Summer experiences hot temperatures into the upper 80s. Luckily, a pretty consistent breeze blows across the Mediterranean, especially in June and July, which helps visitors cool off in the summer weather. These balmy temps, along with the absence of precipitation, ushers in plenty of crowds. Since this is high season, you'll want to be prepared for inflated accommodation prices. Key Events:

September-November |
In the fall, average temperatures hover in the low 60s to the low 80s, though it rains a fair amount. The summer crowds have largely dissipated, leaving beaches, casinos and clubs much quieter. You can still soak in some rays on the beach during the day, but bring layers for cooler evenings. Key Events:

December-February |
This is low season in Cannes with the fewest number of tourists in town. High temperatures in the 50s and low 60s and frequent rain or snow mean you probably won't be frolicking in the Mediterranean, but you can save some euros by visiting at this time of year. Key Events:
