Best Times to Visit Denver
The best times to visit Denver are April through May and September through October. The city's shoulder seasons are characterized by comfortable temperatures, fewer tourists and lower accommodation prices than the summer high season. Denver welcomes the majority of its visitors between June and August when the weather is warm and arid; however, the rise in temps also leads to a rise in hotel rates. And despite its proximity to the Rocky Mountain ski areas, the Mile High City sees a drop-off in tourism during the winter months, which means you can score some great deals on rooms here.
Before you lock down your dates, be sure to take a look at Denver's events calendar. The Mile High City is a popular convention location, and ongoing events can affect room rates in the downtown area.

April-May | Plan on experiencing some rain if you head to Denver in the spring, but you can always stay dry by visiting the city's museums. April and May see temperatures rise (highs range from the mid-50s to low 60s), though the time you have left to score a bargain hotel rate is starting to run out. Take advantage of the pleasant temperatures and thin crowds by booking a zip line excursion. Key Events:
June-August | The summer is a very popular time to visit; if you want to experience Denver at this time of year, you should make reservations well in advance. But you should know that temperatures are high (at times above 90 degrees) and that July is home to heavy rainfall.
September-October | Autumn is popular not just for its weather; many of Denver's annual culinary festivals take place in September and October. The sun shines most days and temperatures are comfortably warm with averages drifting from the upper 40s to the mid-70s in September to the mid-30s to the mid-60s in October, although it is best to bring layers just in case. Be prepared for sudden weather changes and steep temperature declines at night.
November-March | The winter months attract skiers and snowboarders to the nearby Rocky Mountain slopes. Snow storms rage throughout the winter and occasionally into early spring, which keep the ski slopes running into March. Keep in mind that November's average temperatures range from the mid-20s to the low 50s, with low averages dropping to the teens in December and January, and bouncing back up to a range of the mid-20s to the low 50s by March.
