The key to COMO Parrot Cay is personalization: Located on a private Turks and Caicos island northeast of Providenciales, this boutique resort strives to embody the perfect beach vacation for every taste, with various experiences that include customized excursions and intimate dinners. Head to the COMO Shambhala Retreat to enjoy a private yoga class or a hot river stone massage. For a more active experience, borrow kayaks or snorkeling gear to use at your leisure. Even dining is up to you: Eat in your villa, in one of two restaurants or on the beach. Guests love COMO Parrot Cay's food, which is always fresh, organic (when possible) and Caribbean-inspired. However, some caution that the on-site cuisine is expensive. After dinner, retire to one of 72 guest rooms, suites, villas or houses, which are all bathed with natural light and adorned with four-poster beds (draped in white voile), minibars and private verandas or sun decks.

Situated on Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos Islands, The Palms Turks and Caicos is hailed by guests as an ideal retreat for the whole family. The infinity pool that snakes around the boutique resort's grounds is a great spot for kids to cool down while grown-ups grab a drink at the poolside Plunge Bar. Dry off in one of the property's 72 accommodations, which range from 640-square-foot junior suites to oceanfront penthouses. Each suite comes outfitted with at least one king-sized bed, a private balcony or terrace, a sleeper sofa and a kitchenette or kitchen. When you need an adrenaline rush, visit the resort's fitness center or practice your serve at the tennis court. If you desire a more leisurely vacation, enjoy a treatment at the 25,000-square-foot spa or head to the beach to lounge or snorkel. However you choose to spend your day, satisfy your appetite at one of the The Palms' three restaurants, including a garden eatery with a complimentary breakfast buffet. Many past guests raved about the gourmet fare served here, although a few previous diners desired friendlier and more attentive servers. Others said the pool could use a refresh.

A member of the family-friendly, all-inclusive fleet of Beaches Resorts that are part of the Sandals Resorts family, Beaches Turks & Caicos offers plenty of fun for kids and parents. In fact, guests warn against coming here without kids, as there are so many child-friendly activities that some childless guests found the amount of young people around a bit annoying. This Turks and Caicos Islands resort's 45,000-square-foot Pirates Island Waterpark will keep everyone occupied with some fun in the sun, while the Xbox Play Lounge and youth-friendly dance club will entertain even the grumpiest teenagers. After a massage at the Red Lane Spa, regroup for a meal at one of Beaches' 21 restaurants, which serve up everything from pizzas to sushi to burgers. (Rest assured, there's also the adults-only Sapodilla's for a romantic dinner for two.) Come back home to Beaches Turks & Caicos' guest rooms and suites, which feature balconies or patios, white or wooden beds, free Wi-Fi access, stocked minifridges and smart TVs. True to the resort's name, all accommodations sit within walking distance of Grace Bay's alabaster beach, though standard rooms overlook the resort's pools and gardens.

Beach House Turks and Caicos is all about seclusion and intimacy. With only 21 suites located on their own private swath of Grace Bay's white sand dunes, this boutique, adults-only Turks and Caicos resort will give you enough room to stretch out and relax – without being disturbed by too many beachgoers. Each spacious and airy suite (which measures more than 1,000 square feet) is decorated in driftwood decor, beachy blues and creams and includes a terrace or balcony and a kitchenette. Venture away from your room and you'll learn that Beach House takes a scientific approach to cooking at its on-site restaurant, Kitchen 218, which has its own herb garden. Guests rave about the ever-changing seafood menu created by the resort's chef, although they say service can be slow at times. Beach House also offers plenty of land and water sports, including tennis, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and sailing. Budget-minded guests will also appreciate the all-inclusive package, which is available for stays lasting four or more nights.

If you're looking to lounge on a private beach with a daiquiri in hand, then Alexandra Resort has you covered. And for those of you who enjoy snorkeling – or ocean kayaking or paddleboarding – Alexandra Resort can also help you out. The property offers complimentary nonmotorized water sports equipment (for guests staying a minimum of four nights), not to mention chaise lounges lining a private stretch of Provo's Grace Bay. When hunger sets in, the beachfront Asú restaurant will serve up the day's freshest catches, and if you need to unwind, Elevate Spa will massage any tension right out of you. The studios and suites are well-appointed, boasting balconies or terraces, kitchens or kitchenettes and, in some suites, laundry facilities (additions recent guests cited as useful). However, some past visitors cautioned that the cuisine served on-site is not up to par. For additional dining options, you can grab a bite to eat at Beach House Turks and Caicos or Blue Haven Resort. Free shuttle service is available to and from the sister properties.

Blue Haven Resort offers peace and quiet thanks to its perch on the northeastern point of Providenciales. And because it's affiliated with Blue Haven Marina, the resort offers plenty of water activities, including snorkeling, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. When you're not clipping along the cerulean waves, you'll find plenty of ways to relax on-site. The infinity pool overlooks the mangroves and boasts a swim-up bar, while the spa is located in a secluded waterfront gazebo. There's also a fitness center, though some past visitors said the facility is tiny. Tantalize your taste buds at Fire and Ice, or ask the concierge to schedule your transportation to any other restaurant on the Turks and Caicos Islands. When you're ready to catch some shut-eye, retreat to your spacious digs. Recent guests said their lodgings were tranquil and beautifully appointed, with garden, marina or ocean views; minifridges; flat-screen TVs; and marble bathrooms.
