In 2011, River Rock's guest rooms nearly doubled in quantity when the resort built The Hotel at River Rock next door. And with six eateries and a lively lounge, guests rarely need to leave the premises. A 21,000-square-foot theater is also found on site, along with the Absolute Spa, which caters to serenity-seekers with a versatile selection of massages, facials and other body treatments. The casino is open all night, and sleeping in shouldn't be a problem; guests rave about River Rock's plush bedding (though some do caution that the thin walls do not effectively block out disruptive nighttime noise). As for accommodations, visitors can choose from a variety of room types. Crystal Lodge & Suites lodging ranges from traditional guest rooms to deluxe studios to one-, two- and three-bedroom suites. Amenities vary by accommodation type, but all 158 rooms include bathrobes, HD TVs, iPod docking stations, minifridges and free Internet access. While some recent guests describe the rooms as somewhat small and leaning toward the pricey side, they note the staff here is efficient, courteous and helpful in organizing ski packages. After a day on the slopes, relax in the hot tub, heated pool or sauna. For a lively après-ski scene, head to Ric's Grill for appetizers or swig a signature martini at The Mix. Another perk: A handful of shops and restaurants surround the premises and as a Crystal Lodge & Suites guest you'll receive "Crystal Advantage" discounts from the retailers and eateries nearby.
