Keep in mind that this Kissimmee, Florida, hotel is about 5 miles away from the Walt Disney World area, which may be a deal-breaker for families. But on the plus side, it won't take you too long to reach the parks by car or via the resort's theme park shuttle (which is covered by the daily resort fee), and those not interested in the theme park fanfare will be far enough from Mickey's hoopla to enjoy a restful stay. Previous guests appreciated the convenient location, as well as the amenities offered for working travelers. The Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center features a business center and several meeting rooms, plus it's only 19 miles southwest of Orlando International Airport. Take your pick between the standard guest rooms or the Emerald Bay guest rooms, differentiated by their distinct decor. No matter which room you choose, you'll find a flat-screen TV, a coffee maker and free (albeit slow) Wi-Fi access. The property also houses a swimming pool, a water park, a spa and six distinct eateries, plus a coffee house and a frozen yogurt shop. And since the hotel is part of the Marriott brand, Marriott Bonvoy members can use or earn points here.
