U.S. News & World Report ranks the 357 best hotels in the Caribbean based on an analysis of industry awards, hotel star ratings and user ratings. Hotels that scored in the top 10 percent of the Best Hotels in the Caribbean earned a Gold badge.

Note: Due to the extensive damage across many Caribbean islands and their luxury hotels during the 2017 hurricane season, U.S. News & World Report has decided not to update rankings for the Best Hotels in the Caribbean or Best All-Inclusive Resorts in the Caribbean for 2018. The Caribbean hotels will retain their 2017 score and ranking. The hotels will be re-evaluated for the Best Hotels release in 2019.

As the first hotel to open on St. Barts, Eden Rock has been welcoming sun-seeking vacationers for more than 60 years. A-listers like Greta Garbo and Howard Hughes have graced this hotel's hallways; today, guests say Eden Rock remains just as elegant. Each accommodation is unique, with simple neutral tones and private terraces, and guests describe a stay here as worth every penny. Splurge on a specialty villa and you'll have access to such extras as a private art gallery (in the Villa Nina) or a recording studio (in the Rockstar Villa). Eden Rock sits on St. Jean Bay on the island's northern shore, granting visitors access to pristine sands and a nearby coral reef. If you're seeking over-the-top luxury on Antigua, look no further than Jumby Bay. For a pretty penny, you can bask on Long Island, a small islet 2 miles off the northeast coast of Antigua, and soak up the rays on its powdery sand. Despite its cost, recent guests thought their money was well-spent: With pristine suites, spectacular vistas and top-notch service, visitors had very few complaints. As for digs, Jumby Bay's Rondavel rooms reside in octagonal cottages, and each features a four-poster bed, a wrap-around terrace and an outdoor shower. If you can shell out for a private villa (read: estate), you'll get your own pool and beach access. The resort itself offers land and water sports, two pools and the Sense spa. When hunger sets in, you'll have your pick of four dining venues, which serve everything from hamburgers to grilled lobster tail.

At The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, you might have a hard time deciding where to start: along the resort's coral sands or inside your comfy lodgings. Outfitted with private balconies, soaking tubs, Asprey toiletries and minifridges, guest rooms are a point of praise for recent visitors. You can reserve a tee time at the nine-hole, Greg Norman-designed golf course, schedule a treatment at the spa or make use of the hotel's complimentary kayaks, rafts and snorkel gear. Or, park yourself on the sand. The resort offers a prime location, extending 144 acres across the Caribbean to the North Sound, facing Seven Mile Beach's shoreline. When you're ready to refuel, head to Blue by Eric Ripert, or try one of the hotel's other restaurants or bars. What's more, the Ritz-Carlton falls under the Marriott banner, meaning Marriott Rewards members can collect or redeem points here.

A popular hideaway for honeymooners, the Baoase Luxury Resort sits on the southeastern side of Curacao, about a 10-mile drive south of the island's international airport. Recent guests gushed about the hotel's attentive staff and its prime location on a secluded beach. And with just 23 rooms, suites and villas (and its own private island), it's easy to see how the resort manages to create an intimate atmosphere for lodgers. Aside from the five-star customer service, past visitors were pleased with their accommodations, especially the beachfront suites, which boast private infinity pools. If you're not willing to splurge on a suite, you'll still enjoy resort or sea views from your room's balcony (standard accommodations are equipped with balconies or patios), plus complimentary Wi-Fi access, a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, among other amenities. When you're not lounging in your digs, retreat to the resort's infinity pool, recline in a chair on the manmade beach or schedule a treatment at the spa. The beach is also where you'll find the resort's restaurant, which offers a menu of French international cuisine with an Asian twist. Though reviewers found the food delicious, they also said the prices are high. Another gripe among recent guests: the small on-site gym.

Eden Roc at Cap Cana prides itself on secluded luxury. Tucked inside Cap Cana, one of the Dominican Republic's most exclusive communities, this Relais & Châteaux outpost offers a long list of sumptuous amenities. Each of the resort's 34 suites features a private pool, vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and complimentary use of a golf cart (a traveler favorite). Every Eden Roc guest also has access to the Eden Roc Beach Club — a private facility that touts a palm-shaded pool, a barbecue area and a beach bar. Recent guests say a visit to the beach club is a relaxing way to spend an afternoon thanks to the attentive service and ample amount of beach chairs and umbrellas. Need a break from the surf? Head to Punta Espada, one of three Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses in Cap Cana, situated a little more than a mile from the resort. After working up an appetite, sit down for a gourmet meal four eateries — breakfast at Mediterraneo is included in your room rate, but recent visitors suggest paying extra for the seafood at La Palapa.

Rising above its sister property, Anse Chastanet, Jade Mountain offers high-rise vistas of the Piton Mountains, with architecture that draws on St. Lucia's natural beauty. Each of its "sanctuaries" boasts only three walls (the space where the fourth wall should be is completely open), 15-foot ceilings and furnishings crafted from tropical wood. Some suites also feature infinity pools that create the illusion of a limitless space between you, the Caribbean Sea and the Pitons. However, recent guests warn that though the open wall yields majestic views, it also means you're up close and personal with some of the island's high-flying wildlife and the occasional rainstorm. In addition to the panoramic views, Jade Mountain also touts a varied list of island sports, including snorkeling in the Anse Chastanet Bay, sunset sailing on the resort yacht and access to all of Anse Chastanet's activities and facilities. As the site of the finale of the 14th season of "The Bachelor," Jade Mountain knows how to create a romantic atmosphere. Couples can arrange for an in-room massage with the Kai en Ciel Spa or private dining on the Celestial Terrace.

The Capella Marigot Bay provides luxury-seekers the ultimate in island privacy. Because of its secluded location, some recent guests describe the Capella's distant position as too isolated. But what the resort may lack in nearby attractions, it makes up for with luxurious amenities. Rooms are set on 30 acres of leafy tropical gardens and include spacious bay-view balconies. Some select suites even tout private plunge pools. The Capella also features two large freshwater pools — one with an infinity edge overlooking the bay, and one designed in a lagoon-style with a swim-up bar. Recent guests appreciate this dual pool variety for the days when the trek to the beach seems too daunting. Contributing to its relaxed atmosphere, the Auriga Spa features a wide selection of facial and massage treatments. When it's time to dine, guests have their choice of three on-site restaurants and a swim-up bar that serves sushi and sandwiches.

Hotel Christopher's two restaurants, Taïno and Mango, are sure to satiate your appetite after a long day swimming, sailing, hiking or lounging, with hearty portions of seafood and other local fare. Sitting between the Puntacana Marina and Punta Cana International Airport along the Caribbean coast, Tortuga Bay appeases travelers with luxurious amenities. Not many resorts can advertise spacious villas designed by fashion icon Oscar de la Renta. Aside from the stylish decor, accommodations also boast Jacuzzis, kitchenettes and flat-screen TVs. Guests rave about the food served on Oscar's signature tables at Bamboo (as well as at the five other restaurants guests have access to on-site and at the Puntacana Resort & Club). But that's not the only name you'll recognize. Avid golfers will jump at the chance to play one or both of Tortuga Bay's courses, designed by Tom Fazio and P.B. Dye. Meanwhile, relaxation-seekers can take advantage of the Six Senses Spa, which features a full menu of massages and body scrubs. But what guests liked the most about Tortuga Bay was how different it felt from other Punta Cana properties. Many say that the 1,500-acre reserve  maintained by the resort's ecological foundation  was a refreshing break from the overcrowded Bávaro beach hotel scene. And Leaders Club members you're in luck – as part of the Leading Hotels of the World, this property grants perks like welcome gifts and upgrades.

Situated on Grace Bay in Provo, The Palms Turks and Caicos, formerly a Regent property, is hailed by guests as an ideal retreat for the whole family. The infinity pool that snakes around the hotel's grounds is a great spot for kids to cool down while grown-ups grab a drink at the poolside bar, Plunge. Dry off in one of the guest rooms, which range from 640-square-foot junior suites to one-, two- or three-bedroom suites. Each comes with at least one king-sized bed, a private balcony, and an espresso maker. To keep your blood pumping, visit the Fitness Centre where personal trainers offer useful workout advice (for an extra fee). Afterward, unwind at the 25,000-square-foot spa or grab some souvenirs at the Palms Courtyard Shops. However you spend your day, satisfy your appetite at one of the The Palms' two restaurants before sipping a nightcap at the on-site bar. Many guests agree that the gourmet fare served at The Palms is some of the best they've tried at any resort in Turks & Caicos.

Prompting guests to appreciate their magnificent surroundings, the 32 suites at Ladera all boast an "open wall" — like a patio, minus the door — facing the dramatic Pitons and the Caribbean Sea. (Though this absent fourth wall takes luxury to the next level, don't be surprised if you wind up sharing your room with a harmless lizard or two.) Rooms also include your choice of a private plunge pool or waterfall pool. Because Ladera sits on a ridge at 1,100 feet, the resort isn't located directly on a beach. However, Ladera does provide complimentary shuttle service to Sugar Beach on the western side of the island. Ladera also offers an abundance of activities, ranging from a Gros Piton hike to a sailing day trip to Marigot Bay. To experience the mountains in a more restful setting, arrange for an outdoor massage at The Spa. Previous visitors say you should also treat yourself to the field-to-fork eats at the on-site restaurant, Dasheene, but caution that the food is expensive.
