This hotel is set in the heart Croatia's capital city of Zagreb, near top sights like the Zagreb Botanical Garden and Zrinjevac Park. The Esplanade Zagreb Hotel originally opened in 1925 as a refuge for those traveling on the Orient Express. But today, it's a popular refuge for celebrities, politicians and more. The building's facade is reminiscent of the White House in Washington, D.C., with tall white columns and dozens of windows. Inside, guests are met with art deco and contemporary stylings. The hotel's 208 rooms and suites come with complimentary internet access; beds with goose-down pillows and duvets; and marble bathrooms with heated mirrors and floors. The property also offers a range of amenities, including concierge services, Segway tours and a health club and spa. What's more, the Esplanade Zagreb Hotel is home to three on-site eateries, including the widely praised Zinfandel's Restaurant. Recent guests were complimentary of the service at the hotel (particularly how friendly the staff was) and the property's central location. However, a few commented they thought the hotel was missing that little something extra that really characterizes five-star properties. - View all PhotosSun Gardens DubrovnikDubrovnik5.0-star Hotel Class5.0-star Hotel Class

Although this resort – which participates in The Leading Hotels of the World's Leaders Club rewards program – is not within walking distance of central Dubrovnik, Croatia, guests say the property's "outstanding" spa, "friendly" staff and "lovely" accommodations more than justify a stay here. Standard rooms feature white decor with colorful artwork and accent linens, plus amenities like free wireless internet access, minibars and balconies or terraces that overlook the Adriatic Sea. For more perks like fresh flowers, welcome canapes and access to a lounge with complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea, lodgers can stay in one of the resort's club-level accommodations. Or, upgrade to the Presidential Suite, which includes even more extras, such as in-suite massages and unpacking and packing services, as part of its nightly rate. Guests can also book various spa treatments at the on-site spa, where the property's lagoon-style pool, coal and salt saunas, hammam and sun terrace reside. Seven restaurants, a rooftop breakfast venue, seven bars and a fitness facility with a gym, a rock wall and multiple sports courts are available as well. And between May and September, visitors can take advantage of three outdoor pools, a beach, a free kids club and childrens sports camps (for a fee). - View all PhotosFalkensteiner Hotel & Spa IaderaZadar5.0-star Hotel Class5.0-star Hotel Class

Travelers report being in a trance while staying at the Villa Dubrovnik. This is largely due to the hotel's exceptionally scenic location. Villa Dubrovnik lies right on the edge of the Adriatic Sea, tucked between two coastal cliffs about 3 miles southeast of the city center. From just about every point of the property, guests are treated to views of the sea, Dubrovnik's medieval Old Town and the nearby leafy Lokrum Island. All rooms offers vistas of the water and come equipped with a balcony, a feature guests couldn't help but gush over. Travelers say if you are looking to treat yourself, upgrade to a room that has a Jacuzzi on the balcony. Accommodations also come outfitted with flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi access, though the most impressive amenities can be found outside of the rooms. The hotel's offerings include a fitness center, an indoor swimming pool, a private beach and a seasonal, Venetian-style vaporetto boat that takes guests into Old Town. However, former lodgers said if you should do anything on-site, it's eat. The Restaurant Pjerin receives high marks for its delectable Mediterranean menu. The cherry on top of this world-class experience for travelers was the staff, who many guests say are experts at hospitality and really know how to make a stay memorable. But with all the property's amazing offerings, Villa Dubrovnik's room rates will cost you a pretty penny. - View all PhotosHotel LoneRovinj5.0-star Hotel Class5.0-star Hotel ClassHotel Lone is a 5 star hotel. Recent guests say this Croatian hotel has a lot going for it. The first – and most memorable part for many guests – is Hotel More's idyllic location right on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Travelers say the views from the hotel are unforgettable, especially come sunset. As such, booking an ocean view room here is essential to the overall experience (guests also warn the garden view rooms don't actually face a garden). Rooms and suites here help induce relaxation with comfortable amenities like LCD TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi access, bathrobes and slippers, minibars and bathrooms with whirlpool baths (a guest favorite) or hydro-massage showers. Guests were also pleased with the quality facilities on-site. Travelers enjoyed both the waterfront setting and fare found at Restaurant More, which serves Croatian and Mediterranean cuisine. The Cave Bar More, set within an actual cave beneath the hotel, earned "oohs" and "ahhs" from guests as well. The property also boasts a small fitness center, a spa, a pool and a little beach (or rather lounging space on the cliffs and a designated swimming area in the water below). You can find the Hotel More a little more than 2 miles north of Dubrovnik's city center.
